Artist's Notes
This work was produced for 'Re;Alms' 10 days Winchester 2013 an Exhibition at Brethren's Hall, The Hospital of St Cross & Almshouse of Noble Poverty, Winchester. The work responds to the ability of interior spaces such as The Almshouse, who has offered refuge to the needy and homeless since medieval times, to transform lives.
Walking through the building you pass through a series of medieval doors and openings leading to spaces which provided salvation to many.
Each section of the resin sculpture is cast within the next section giving the appearance of spaces within spaces. The work presents a journey through invisible spaces.
